Coronado Preschool

Welcome and thank you for your interest in CUSD’s Early Education Schools, known as Coronado Preschool.  Below you will find information about our preschool offerings and our application. • Part-Day State-Funded PreK (both locations)
• Part-Day Tuition Based PreK (both locations)

To be eligible for preschool, children must be 3-years-old.  A child is considered 3 to start on the first day of school if his or her birthdate is on or before December 1st of that school year.  If the birthday is on or after December 2nd, the child can start school on his or her 3rd birthday (in the middle of the school year). It is recommended to apply at least 6 weeks prior to the third birthday.  Enrollment will be based off of state guidelines for CA State Preschool Programs (CSPP).  Private pay is based on a combination of age and application date.  

CUSD is opening registration for ALL students for 25/26 the week of April 21st.  Preschool registration will have a separate link from all school aged registration.  Check back at the end of April for the link to register (the page will say Edupoint - online registration or ParentVue) .  A week within registering online you will receive an email with PDF attachements that are additional paperwork required by the CA Department of Social Services (documents that are not able to be done online).  

For applications to start in the spring of 2025 school year (if your child is turning 3 you can apply anytime during the year), contact the following people to start the application process:

1. Current Immunizations (child must have 3-Polio, 4-DTP, 1-HIB, 3-HepB, 1-Varicella and 1-MMR)
2. Original or Certified Copy of Birth Certificate for the preschool-aged student AND all siblings/youth living in the household (sibling birth certificates ONLY needed for State Funded Familes).
3. Two (2) Current Utility Bills as proof of residency including name and address
4. A non-refundable application fee of $100.00, payable to “Coronado Unified School District” must be submitted with the application for each child you wish to enroll (cash, check, or charge accepted). If your child has an IEP (Special Education) OR qualifies for the free, state-funded program, the application fee is waived.
